Hi there. I'm calling from Great Falls. This happened back in August of 1950. I was general manager of the Great Falls Electrics, our minor league baseball team. Good team, too. We played at Legion Stadium, right here in town. It was the fifteenth of August. Tuesday morning. Around eleven twenty-five, maybe eleven thirty. I was out at the stadium doing my morning inspection before a game. Just checking things over, you know, making sure the reserved seat section was all set. My secretary Virginia was with me, nineteen years old, helping me check things. Clear day. Hot already. Sun was bright, shining from maybe 30 or 40 degrees east. You could see for miles. Not a cloud in the sky.

I saw this bright flash. Caught my eye, like light reflecting off metal. I looked up and there they were. Two bright silvery objects, flying over Great Falls. They were above the smelter stack at the Anaconda Copper Mining plant, maybe 5,000 feet up. Moving smooth, heading south. The things were rotating. I could see that clear as day. Spinning as they flew. They looked like discs, about fifty feet wide I'd say, moving maybe 200 to 400 miles per hour. Not as fast as jets, but steady. Real steady. And they were keeping formation, about a hundred and fifty feet apart from each other. I called out to Virginia. She saw them too. I said hold on, and I ran to my car. I always kept my 16mm movie camera in there, color film loaded. Took me maybe twenty, thirty seconds to get to the car and grab the camera.

By the time I got back and got the camera adjusted, the objects had moved a bit, but I could still see them. I started filming. Got maybe sixteen seconds of footage before they moved behind the General Mills grain building and disappeared into the blue sky beyond. Virginia saw the whole thing. She watched them for maybe five to ten seconds while I was filming. When I asked her what she thought they were, she just shook her head. She didn't know. Neither did I. Now here's something important. Right after those things disappeared, maybe a minute or two later, we saw two jets coming in for a landing. F-94s, I found out later. They were behind us, coming in to land at Malmstrom Air Force Base, about three miles from the stadium. But those jets were nowhere near where the objects had been. Completely different part of the sky.
