Good evening. I sell sewing machines for a living. Been doing it for years, driving all over West Virginia and Ohio. November 2nd, 1966, I was coming home from Marietta, had a good day of sales. It was getting dark, maybe seven fifteen, seven twenty. I was driving my panel truck south on Interstate 77, just minding my own business. About halfway home, I noticed one of the machines in the back was shifting around. You could hear it rattling back there. I pulled over to the shoulder, got out, adjusted it so it wouldn't bounce around. Took maybe five minutes. Got back in the truck, pulled back onto the highway. That's when I noticed headlights coming up behind me. Fast.

At first I thought it was just another car. But as it got closer, something felt wrong. The lights weren't right. They didn't look like headlights, you know what I mean? More like a glow. And the thing was moving strange, kind of gliding. It came up alongside me, then passed me. That's when I got a better look at it. It wasn't a car. It was shaped like, well, the best way I can describe it is like an old kerosene lamp chimney. You know those glass globes? Dark metal, maybe 35, 40 feet long. Oval shaped with a flat bottom and this domed top. And here's the crazy part, it wasn't touching the road. It was hovering maybe six, eight inches above the pavement. Making this soft fluttering sound, almost like wings. Then it moved in front of me. Just cut right across my lane and stopped dead in the middle of the road. Blocked the whole highway. I had to slam on my brakes. My heart's pounding, I'm thinking, what in God's name is this thing?

I sat there, engine running, hands on the wheel. Just staring at this craft sitting there in front of me. And then I saw it, this crack forming along the side of it. A door. It swung open like a car door, and the whole craft lowered itself down onto the road. Real gentle, like it was landing. A man stepped out. Just walked right out of that thing and started coming toward my truck. The craft lifted back up into the air, maybe 75 feet up, and just hovered there. Waiting. And this man, he walked right up to the passenger side of my truck. I'm telling you, he looked completely normal. About six feet tall, maybe in his mid-thirties. Dark brown hair, slicked straight back on his head. His skin had this tan to it, like he spent time outdoors. He was wearing this outfit, kind of hard to describe. Like a business suit, but all one piece. Zipped up the front. Shiny material, dark blue, almost navy. The jacket, the shirt underneath, the pants, all the same material, different shades of blue.
